Potential On Camera One Class

Hi All. I am late getting my announcements out for class, because of uncertainty. I may be out of the country in January, but I won’t know for another week. If I am going to be here, my OC I class would start the second Monday of January (the 14th). I wanted to at least let you know that there is a good chance that will be happening. If you are interested in this class, just let me know, and I will put you on the short list of folks to notify when I know for sure.

7 weeks
Limited to 12 Actors

Time: Mondays 6:30 - 9:30
The total cost is $325.

Beginning with improv and easing into scripted scene work, this is a relaxed,
fun approach to getting comfortable in front of the camera.
The objective of the class is to establish the foundations of a process that emphasizes
simply listening and talking - being "in your skin" - as opposed to in your head.
This is a great transitional class for theatre actors and an excellent foundational class for brand new actors.
All work is filmed, reviewed and discussed - time permitting.

A 100 dollar deposit registers you - refunded only up to 48 hours before the first class.
The balance ($225) is due by the second class, after which there is no refund.

Next Class - This Sunday

This Sunday begins my 7 week On Camera Acting Class.
This class is being co-taught by my partner in the studio, Brooke Totman and me. As always, if you are curious and not ready to commit, you are welcome to audit the first class, and see what it is all about. Do not, however, show up without getting confirmation from me.

**On Camera Acting II (with Ted Rooney)
7 weeks Limited to 10 actors
Dates: June 18th to July 30th
Time: Tuesdays 6:30 - 9:30pm
The total cost is $285

The class is especially tailored to actors who have already been through the OC I class.
Though this is not a requirement, actors need to have the fundamental abilities that OC I covers.
If I don’t know an actors work, I will need to see something on tape or in person.

Moving beyond "being in your skin" and finding simplicity on camera, here the focus is on
rehearsal process, the "headspace" of the character, script analysis, and auditioning.
Actors are expected to up the ante, as we get into the hard work of acting.
Know that this class will require more outside time than OC I.
All work is filmed and (time permitting) viewed and discussed.

An Introduction

Ted Rooney - Acting Coach
On camera, Ted has amassed over 35 TV guest-star and recurring credits including Boardwalk Empire, ER, Gilmore Girls, Community, Lost, Weeds, My Name Is Earl, Seinfeld, CSI, It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Ted has over 20 principal movie roles (Gone, Legally Blonde, Santa Pups, Blood Work...) and over 35 principal appearances in commercials (Yes, he was Abe Lincoln in the Mt. Dew ad and the Rozerem spots :-) Locally, Ted has appeared in The Librarians, Grimm, Leverage, Portlandia, The Kill Hole, Bucksville and Cell Count. On Stage, Ted has acted locally at Corrib, Profile ad ART, and in regional theatres (Ahmanson - LA, Williamstown Theatre, The McCarter, The Wilma, The Arden, Portland Stage, and Idaho Shakespeare). He has performed in 10 off-Broadway plays and 10 plays in LA with the Actors Co-op. Ted has a BA in Theatre from Lewis and Clark College and an MFA in acting from Temple University. Currently, Ted is currently teaching and coaching acting out of his own studio space, as well as teaching on camera acting at Portland State University.
