I realize it may seem weird to having an acting class online. But for "on camera" acting class, this venue actually works very well. I was teaching this class before Covid-19, and have worked out most of the kinks and find it to be very effective. However, I understand that this is a new way of doing things and it a bit of a mystery to most of you. So, if you are interested in taking this class but unsure about committing, come join the first class - no obligation - and see what you think. I have a few spots available for “auditors”. If you then find that you wanna take the class, and there are still spaces available, you can join the class at that point. Do make sure you reserve your audit spot in advance, though.
You don’t need to join Zoom to take the class and you don’t need any new software. You wanna have a solid internet connection with good bandwidth and a fairly well-lit room. It will work on smartphones as well as computers, but the best option involves you having both hands free. So, computers work best. If you wanna use your smartphone, I recommend getting a tripod or a holder of some sort. Below I have a photo of what I rigged for my phone.
Email me if you are thinking of joining or if you have any questions.
Cheers!
Ted
**On-line On Camera Acting I (via Zoom)
6 weeks
Limited to 10 Actors
Dates: April 29th - June 3rd
Time: Wednesdays 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The total cost is $215 (Flexible payment options)
Beginning with improv and easing into scripted scene work, this is a relaxed,
fun approach to getting comfortable in front of the camera.
The objective of the class is to establish the foundations of a process that emphasizes
simply listening and talking - being "in your skin" - as opposed to in your head.
This is a great transitional class for theatre actors and an excellent foundational class for brand new actors.
All work is filmed, reviewed and discussed - time permitting.
A 75 dollar payment registers you. The deposit can be refund up until 48 hours before the first class.
The rest of the payment (140) is then due by the second class.
For payment, Venmo is preferred and Paypal is the second choice.
Venmo is via: 323-819-9622, or @tedrooney
Paypal address: twrooney@pacbell.net (Choose Friends or Family to avoid surcharge).
