Daytime Class Delay: NEW YEAR DISCOUNT!

My Daytime class has a new start day of next Wednesday the 10th.
----------------------------------------------------------
If your desire is to try something new this year, think about On Camera One with me. I do guarantee a fun learning process! For a limited time in the New Year, I am offering a discount on my Introduction classes. I am giving 20% off for the Daytime class, and 10% off for the Thursday evening class. Just mention this to me when emailing me to sign up.

Non-actors should know that this is a excellent class for them. Though serious actors can benefit from foundational on camera principals, much of the acting fundamentals taught in my classes deal with practical things like being a good listener and communicating authentically. If you have a friend or loved one who is wanting to try something new, this class is a great gift. And, if you have been wanting to stretch yourself / get out of your comfort zone, this class is perfect for you. In the context of a safe and supportive atmosphere, you will be overcoming performance anxiety and learning to express yourself with authenticity.

Note that the Wednesday daytime class starts up the second week of January.

Happy New Year!

**On Camera Acting II - 7 weeks
Dates: January 9th - February 20th
Time: Tuesdays 6:30 - 9:30pm
The total cost is $295

The class is especially tailored to actors who have already been through the OC I class.
Though this is not a requirement, actors need to have the fundamental abilities that OC I covers.
If I don’t know an actors work, I will need to see something on tape or in person.

Moving beyond "being in your skin" and finding simplicity on camera, here the focus is on
rehearsal process, the "headspace" of the character,  script analysis, and auditioning.
Actors are expected to up the ante, as we get into the hard work of acting.
Know that this class will require more outside time than OC I.
All work is filmed and (time permitting) viewed and discussed.

FULL**On Camera Acting III - Character Work - 6 weeks
Dates: January 15th - February 19th
Time: Mondays 6:30 - 9:30pm
The total cost is $210

This class is for either advanced actors or actors who have been through OC I and OC II.
It was designed to be a continuation of those two classes.
Moving beyond yourself in the given circumstances, the focus here is on stretching the actor’s sphere of comfort
both physically and emotionally. Whether it is with an accent, a physiology or a personality,
the goal is to be able to include characters that are not normally considered one’s “type.”
Character work is “owning” those differences - stepping into the shoes of someone unlike oneself.
Techniques in accomplishing this are discussed and practiced in class.
Each actor decides with me how much they want to stretch and with what kind of material.
All work is filmed and (time permitting) viewed and discussed.

A 100 dollar deposit holds a spot. The balance ($110) is due by the second class.
Mailing address for check payments, below. Venmo and Paypal work. Venmo via: 323-819-9622.

Hey all. I will only be teaching one class this Summer, and it is On Camera I. It will be a Saturday morning class. Email me if you are interested.

Below is the information on the class.

Current Scene Study Classes

Hey Guys. Here is my offering for advanced scene study. On Tuesday mornings starting in May, I would like to offer a 4 week class that meets every other week and a 3 week class that does the same. Sound confusing? The idea is to give actors two weeks to pick and prepare a scene. Of course, if you committed to both segments, for you it would be an 7 week scene study class. But I have sensed that this is a little too much for many, so I am offering the option to sign up for a class that meets every other week. If this is still unclear, take a look at the breakdown below ;-)

Best.

Ted

4 Weeks - Scene Study (Limited to 8 actors)
Dates: Tuesdays - every other week May 2nd through June 13th
Time: 10am - 1pm
Cost: 120 bucks. Deposit of 30 dollars holds your spot. Refunded at more than 48 hours in advance of the first class

As soon as you sign up, we will work to find a script for you. You can partner with someone in class, if you like, or go it alone. If alone, someone else in the class will serve as your “informed reader”.
It is really up to you what to work on. You could work on an “out there” character to stretch yourself, or something right up your alley to get more comfortable in your realm of castability - comedy or drama...The hope for the script is that it is something you have not viewed…at least not recently. As most of you know, I have lots of options to throw your way, if you let me know what you have in mind working on.
Actors are expected to bring in their work "camera ready”. That means off book and loosely staged - unless the actor wants to work in “audition format”. Still, the expectation is that the material is camera ready.
All work is filmed. Each actor receives their weekly video files. Time permitting, the work is viewed and discussed.
The requirement for this class is that you have either been through my On Camera Acting I and II classes,
or you are very comfortable with on camera work and are proficient in on camera acting preparation and script analysis.

Spring On Camera Classes

Hello All. This is my next round of classes. For the OC I classes, I realize that filling up a daytime class might be bit slower. I know the evening class will fill up right away. So, if you can manage either, I encourage you to sign up for the daytime class. I will also be offering an Advanced Scene Study class this round, for which I will be sending out a separate notice.

I wanted to also say that since my OC I and II classes are progressive (one class builds on another) I would prefer that actors do not miss any classes. So, I would prefer to fill the class with actors who can commit to being there.

One more thing to note this round is that we will be taking a week off in line with PPS spring break the last week of March. So the time period will actually be 8 weeks.

Best.

Please email me if you are planning on coming, and wait for confirmation: acted@att.net
I will send you details the night before. Make sure you take my phone number for last minute communication.

I wanna allow more time for each actor, so I have limited Actorcise to 10 people.
Therefore, I when you sign up, I need you to be committed to showing up. If you are not sure you can make it, please hold off signing up until you are. I will keep a waiting list for last minute cancelations. But if you have signed up and have to drop out last minute, if your spot is not filled by someone on the waiting list, you are on the honor system for payment. You can then send a check or pay via Paypal or Venmo. However, I will certainly try my best to fill your spot :-)
