Ted's Winter Classes

I am hoping to begin “Actorcise” (cold reading workshops) again, this January.
The classes will likely be held Thursdays or Wednesdays from 11am – 1 pm.

So far, I do not have a Scene Study Class Scheduled.

Here are the two set classes I will be offering:

On Camera Acting I - 7 weeks (Limited to 10 actors)
Dates: January 14th - February 25th
Time: Wednesdays 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The cost is $245—A $50 dollar deposit holds a spot. The balance is due by the second class.
Mailing address for payments, below. Paypal and Square payments accepted with 3% surcharge.

Beginning with improv and easing into scripted scene work, this is a relaxed,
fun approach to getting comfortable in front of the camera.
The objective of the class is to establish the foundations of a process that emphasizes simply listening and talking -
being "in your skin" as opposed to “in your head.”

All work is filmed, reviewed and discussed—time permitting. Each actor receives their weekly video files.

On Camera Acting II - 7 weeks (Limited to 8 actors)
Dates: January 15th - February 26th
Time: Thursdays 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The cost is $220—A $50 dollar deposit holds a spot. The balance is due by the second class.
Mailing address for payments, below. Paypal and Square payments accepted with 3% surcharge.

Moving beyond "being in your skin" and finding simplicity on camera, here the focus is on script analysis,
the "headspace" of the character, rehearsal process and auditioning. Actors are expected to up the ante,
as we get into the hard work of acting. Expect this class to require more of a time commitment.
This class is especially tailored to actors who have already been through the Foundational I class, though that is not a requirement.

All work is film, reviewed and discussed—time permitting. Each actor receives their weekly video files.

Ted's New Classes

Hey All. I will be launching a six week character acting class this round instead of holding my evening scene study class. I will still be having a scene study class during the day, though, and I have included that information here, as well as information on My On Camera I and II classes.

Character class is exactly as it sounds. We are moving beyond the: "you in the given circumstances" that is so important for on camera work into playing roles that are much different than yourself. How much different is up to each actor. This is an opportunity for actors to really stretch themselves with the goal of still "owning" it.

OC III - Character Class - 6 Weeks (Limited to 8 actors)
In film, character acting (walking and talking unlike yourself) is hard fought territory. It cannot simply be lopped on top of an actors performance. Unless you own it, the camera will catch you acting. Whether it is a walk, an accent, or a personality, it needs to be rehearsed to the point of being very comfortable. This class is an opportunity for experienced actors to practice stretching themselves in this regard
The requirement for this class is that an actor either has been through my On Camera Acting I and II classes,
or an actor is comfortable in front of the camera and is proficient in on camera acting and script analysis.
Actors are expected to bring in their work "camera ready."
All work is filmed. Each actor receives their weekly video files. Time permitting, the work is viewed and discussed.

Dates: April 30th - June 4th
Time: Wednesdays 10:00am - 1:00pm
Cost: $160
If the class is not full, one time participants are welcome for a $35 fee.

Daytime Scene Study (Limited to 8 actors)
Dates: April 23rd - June 11th**
Time: Wednesdays 10:00am - 1:00pm
Unless an actor chooses to rework a scene, a new one is selected each week.
We (each actor and I) are looking for scenes that will help them move forward in their process and profession.
Actors are expected to bring in their work "camera ready".
All work is filmed. Each actor receives their weekly video files. Time permitting, the work is viewed and discussed.
The requirement for this class is that an actor either has been through my On Camera Acting I and II classes,
or an actor is comfortable in front of the camera and is proficient in on camera acting and script analysis.
**I am adopting a new pay plan for this daytime scene study class. This is to make room for more flexibility with the actors. I have had many requests for an every other week class. And I know that on any given week, something could come up (like an audition) This would make things more flexible if you are won of those folks.
I will call it a voucher system. I am offering 8 weeks. You may buy a one time voucher if you just want to drop in once, or you may buy eight and attend all classes. The more vouchers you buy the less you pay per class. Make sense? Here are my pricings:
8 classes: 200 bucks
6 classes: 165 bucks
4 classes: 120 bucks
2 classes: 65 bucks
1 class:    35 bucks

**On Camera Acting I - 7 weeks (Limited to 8 actors).
Dates: May 1st - June 12th
Time: Thursdays 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The cost is $250 - A $50 dollar deposit holds a spot. The balance is due by the second class.
Beginning with improv and easing into scripted scene work, this is a relaxed,
fun approach to getting comfortable in front of the camera.
The objective of the class is to establish the foundations of a process that emphasizes
simply listening and talking - being "in your skin" - as opposed to in your head.
All work is filmed, reviewed and discussed.

**On Camera Acting II - 7 weeks (Limited to 8 actors)
Dates: April 28th - June 9th
Time: Mondays 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The cost is $220 - A $50 dollar deposit holds a spot.
The balance is due by the second class.
Moving beyond "being in your skin" and finding simplicity on camera,
here, the focus is on script analysis, the "headspace" of the character, rehearsal and auditioning.
We also take a serious look at "getting there" - There, being the headspace of the character.
