OC I Class Added

My Thursday night class is full, so I have added a Wednesday night. Details here:

FULL **On Camera Acting I - 7 weeks (Limited to 10 actors).
Dates: January 11th - February 22nd
Time: Wednesdays 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The cost is $275 (sliding scale down to $225 for those on a tight budget)
A $100 dollar deposit holds a spot. Refunded only up to 48 hours before the first class.
The balance ($175) is due by the second class, after which there is no refund.
Mailing address for check payments, below
Checks are preferred, but Paypal (ask for my account address - it is not this one. Use Friend or Family option)
and Square (3% surcharge) payments are accepted.

Beginning with improv and easing into scripted scene work, this is a relaxed,
fun approach to getting comfortable in front of the camera.
The objective of the class is to establish the foundations of a process that emphasizes
simply listening and talking - being "in your skin" - as opposed to in your head.
This is a great transitional class for theatre actors and an excellent foundational class for new actors.

All work is filmed, reviewed and discussed - time permitting.

I have decided to add an On Camera I class on Thursday nights. Note that the Thursday class runs only 6 weeks, and therefore, the price difference. This means that I will have two OC I classes at once. One on Wednesday nights and one on Thursday nights. If you wanna sign up, let me know which one you are up for.

Cheers.

Saturday Audition Workshop

I am holding a one time ON CAMERA audition workshop at my studio from 1-4pm this Saturday the 14th. I am especially interested in attracting actors who have not been to many or any workshops and who do not know me. You experienced workshoppers are not the ones who really need the workshops! :-) Have you resisted class, but are still getting callbacks without booking? Come to me for an honest opinion on where you are at and tips to help you improve. Everyone will audition, and get feedback and get to watch your audition on the big screen.

Let me know asap, so I can get you some sides to choose from for your audition piece. If you would prefer to bring in your own audition material, you are welcome to. In this case, you would need to email me your sides in advance.

Email me at: tedrooney@pdx.edu to sign up.

30 dollars
May 14th  from 1pm - 4pm

Payment can be cash or check. Credit card with a 3% surcharge.

On Camera II

I have one spot left in OC II that begins in a week, so I would love to have someone hop in - especially a dude, as we are low on them this round - but either way. If you have been teetering, un-teeter. If it is a financial thing, let’s work something out.

This is not an introductory level class. See class description for more details.

Spring Classes - Revised

Here are my new offerings.

Let me know if you are interested, then get me that deposit, ASAP. I can only guarantee a spot if I have the deposit :-)

Ted

First off. Here is the 4 week Character Scene Study class that will be starting Monday the 9th of May. You will be working to stretch yourself as far as you choose. The challenge is to own the stretch. To work comfortable outside of your realm of comfort. As I have often said in class, character work is hard fought territory. To walk in the skin of another person is the goal. The idea is to bring in a different scene each week. The option is with you whether you bring in the same character or not. Of course, if you just want a 4 week scene study class, and would prefer to stick close to home with your work, you are still welcome to join :-) As soon as you sign up, we will work to find a script/character for you. It is really up to you what to work on. You could work on an “out there” character or just something you have not done before but you think should be in your wheelhouse.

4 Weeks - Character Scene Study (Limited to 8 ADVANCED actors)
Dates: Monday May 9th through May 30th
Time: 6:30pm - 9:30pm
Cost: 110 - 130 bucks (110 for those of you on a tighter budget). Deposit of 40 dollars holds your spot.
Checks are preferred, but Paypal and Square (3% surcharge) payments are accepted.
Refunded for more than 48 hours in advance of the first class.
Actors are expected to bring in their work "camera ready”. That means off book and loosely staged.
All work is filmed. Each actor receives their weekly video files. Time permitting, the work is viewed and discussed.
The requirement for this class is that you have either been through my On Camera Acting I and II classes, or you are comfortable in front of the camera and are proficient in on camera acting preparation and script analysis.

**On Camera Acting I - 7 weeks (Limited to 10 actors).
Dates: April 27th
Time: Wednesdays 6:30pm - 9:30pm
The cost is $240 - $290 (240 for those on a tight budget)
A $75 dollar deposit holds a spot. Refunded only up to 48 hours before the first class.
The balance ($175) is due by the second class, after which there is no refund.

Actorcise - ThursdayMarch 17th

Hey Guys.

There will be an Actorcise this Wednesday the 17th from 11am to 1pm.

I wanna allow more time for each actor, so I am gonna try limiting the size of Actorcise to 10 people. This is why I am changing the price to 15 bucks. I know. I know. But it has been 10 bucks for five years, and though the size of 16 is invigorating and fun, it is also exhausting for me, and the actors can end up feeling rushed.

As always, don't just show up.
Please email me if you are planning on coming, and wait for confirmation: tedrooney@pdx.edu
I will send you details the night before.
Cheers. Ted
